Hi guys! I know, I know… it’s been FOREVER since I’ve posted here in donnasdiary.com. 😦 My original plan was to post once or twice a month when I first started this blog shortly after my 39th birthday, BUT what can I say… Life happens and time flies! Quite a bit has changed in my life since my first posts. The biggest being that I’sss married now, and I’ve since turned 40! 🙂 But I’ll take a deeper dive into all that and much more in my upcoming posts (yes, I hope to keep the momentum going!)
But since I’m getting my feet wet again in this blog, I decided to do a quick review of this month’s Ipsy Glam Bag. For those unfamiliar with the Ipsy Glam Bag, it’s a monthly subscription you receive in the mail which contains 5 sample size cosmetic products in a small cosmetics bag. When you sign up to subscribe, you’re asked a series of questions about skin tone, hair texture, eye/hair color, beauty brands you currently use, etc. This helps Ipsy determine what type of products to send to you monthly. The cost is $10 per month.

My products this month were a bit disappointing. I’m not really excited to try any of these products. I’ll probably try the lipgloss and the eyeliner, just because you always need backup lipgloss and eyeliner in one of your purses or in your desk drawer at work. Lol!
Even though the products in this month’s bag weren’t really right for me, I have received a few products that I do love and would have never been introduced to if not for Ipsy Glam Bag. Also, some of the bags are super adorable (not this month’s though…lol), and can be really useful to me when traveling, in particular. Here are just a few of the other bags I’ve received…
I’m not sure how long I’ve been subscribed to Ipsy, but it’s probably been more than 2 years now. Overall, usually there are one or two products included that I at least want to try. This month’s featured products were probably products I disliked the most since subscribing to the Glam Bag.
However, my real reason for subscribing is because I absolutely LOVE getting surprises in the mail!!! LOL! Ever since I was a kid, I’ve gotten excited about cards or packages I receive in the mail. Also, it’s my little surprise treat I give to myself each month. It’s only $10 bucks, so it’s an affordable surprise, even if I don’t always like the products. It’s all about the excitement I feel when I come home and my little pink package is waiting in my mailbox! I always take a little “ME” time to open my bag and check out products that make me feel happy and are all about ME! It’s a little thing, but it makes me smile and forget the worries or pressures of that day (if only for a moment).
Giving and receiving gifts is my primary love language! And please believe, it’s important to speak your love language to yourself!!!
Oh yeah… I usually pass along the products I’m not interested in to my little (and sometimes not so little…lol) cousins. They love it!!! Especially the bags… they LOVE them! So, my $10 monthly glam bags not only make me happy, but also pass along some joy to others! That’s pretty awesome!
